Sixto Cervantes Dies in Sacramento County Collision on I-5 near Hood Franklin Road
Sacramento County, California (November 2, 2022) – A Bakersfield man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on I-5 in Sacramento County early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened near Hood Franklin Road just before 1 a.m. November 1.
According to the CHP, a 2014 Nissan was traveling northbound on Interstate 5 when it drifted across the center median and collided with an oncoming GMC truck.
The impact caused the Nissan to spin and the driver was ejected into a nearby field.
The driver, identified as Sixto Cervantes, 21, of Bakersfield, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the GMC, a 38-year-old Lodi man, was seriously injured.
The passengers in the GMC were not injured.
The CHP is investigating the collision.
