1 Killed in Seattle Crash at SR 509 and SR 99
Vespa Rider Hit, Killed by Vespa Truck at SR 509 and SR 99 in Seattle
King County, Washington (May 13, 2023) – One person died in a collision involving a Vespa and a U-Haul truck in Seattle on Saturday afternoon.
The fatal crash happened at around 1 p.m. on the southbound State Route 509 exit to State Route 99.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the rider of a Vespa cycle collided with a U-Haul truck in unclear circumstances.
The rider was trapped in the truck’s wheel well and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The name of the victim was not immediately disclosed.
Authorities temporarily closed the freeway exit as the scene was examined.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
