Adrian Flores Hospitalized after Deadly 80 Freeway Crash at Pedrick Road in Dixon
Dixon, California (May 11, 2022) – A 42-year-old Sacramento man was killed in a Tuesday morning Dixon multi-car crash that also injured five other people, one of them seriously, as per a local news source.
Authorities identified the seriously injured party as Adrian Flores, 28, of Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident involved a Ford F-650, considered a commercial super truck, a Ford F-450, and a 2020 Volvo semi tractor-trailer.
At around 6:50 a.m., the 42-year-old Sacramento man was driving the Ford F-650 truck in the No. 3 lane, approaching slower-moving traffic, with Flores as his passenger. The truck crashed into the rear of the Ford F-450, occupied by four people. The driver of the second truck lost control and crashed into the metal guardrail center median.
The first truck continued westbound and sideswiped the big rig.
The Sacramento driver died in the crash. Flores was hospitalized at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center with major injuries.
The four occupants of the other truck, two from Sacramento and two from Elk Grove, of ages between 26 to 60, were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
The driver of the big rig, Victor Lezhnenko, 57, of Sacramento, was not hurt.
All westbound lanes of 80 Freeway were closed down following the collision.
