Franklin J Robinson Dies After Phelan Truck Accident at Sheep Creek Road and Phelan Road
Phelan, California (January 10, 2023) – Franklin J Robinson of Phelan, 73, has been identified as the man killed in a rear-end semi-truck collision on Monday morning, according to a local news source.
The accident occurred at around 7:23 a.m. on January 9, near Sheep Creek Road and Phelan Road.
Per the report, a Walmart big rig driver was heading north on Sheep Creek when he stopped at a red light and a northbound Nissan Frontier operated by Robison stopped behind it. A 2011 Mazda CX7 drove towards the two vehicles from behind and did not stop hitting the Nissan’s back. The impact caused the Nissan to crash into the Freightliner trailer.
Both the Nissan and the Mazda sustained significant damage following the crash.
Robison suffered critical injuries and was rushed by emergency crews to a local hospital, where he died. An 8-year-old child, a Frontier occupant, was injured and transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The Mazda driver, 22 years, was unhurt in the accident. The Colton man, 50 years, driving the Walmart big rig, a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia, did not suffer any injuries due to the collision.
No additional information regarding this crash was provided.
