Semi-Truck Driver Injured in Crash with Fire Engine in Imperial County
One Hurt in Imperial County Accident on Highway 111 and Evan Hewes Highway
Imperial County, California (May 17, 2023) – A semi-truck driver was injured in a collision involving an El Centro Fire Engine on Tuesday afternoon in Imperial County, according to authorities.
The collision happened on Highway 111 and Evan Hewes Highway at around 2:50 p.m. May 16.
Authorities said three El Centro Firemen were responding to a call of another semi-truck on fire in the area of Highway 111 and Worthington Road when the collision occurred.
The driver of the big rig involved in the collision sustained minor injuries and was taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
