One Killed and Another Hospitalized in Yolo County 2-Car Traffic Crash
Esparto, California (August 11, 2017) – According to a statement by the California Highway Patrol, one person died, and another one was hospitalized after two vehicles collided Wednesday evening in Esparto.
The fatal accident was reported at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, August 9 in the area of County Road 14 and County Road 87, west of Interstate 505 Freeway.
The CHP said that a 42-year-old Yuba City woman was driving a Nissan east on County Road 14 approaching the intersection with County Road 87. Meanwhile, a 2002 Toyota driven by a 29-year-old man was heading north on County Road 87. The two vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, and the Nissan struck the left side of the Toyota.
Both motorists were transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old man, a resident of the Yolo County community of Madison, succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Nissan driver sustained moderate injuries in the wreck.
The incident remained under an active investigation by the authorities.
