Olivia Tiscareno ID’d as 45-Year-Old Moss Landing Woman Killed in Watsonville Crash on Highway 1 near Airport Boulevard

Watsonville, California (February 23, 2021) – Olivia Tiscareno, 45, of Moss Landing, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a Sunday morning wrong-way crash that left a 46-year-old man also from Moss Landing seriously injured, authorities said.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident occurred at about 12:17 a.m., on February 21, on Highway 1, just south of Airport Boulevard.
A 2015 Nissan, operated by Johanna Mayapuga, 22, of Santa Cruz, was headed northbound in the highway’s southbound lanes when it collided with a 2002 BMW, driven by the 46-year-old Moss Landing man, the CHP said.
Following the collision, the Nissan came to rest, blocking the number 3 lane of southbound Highway 1. The BMW came to a rest off the west-side shoulder with its rear resting on the guardrail, the officials said.

Sadly, Tiscareno, who was a passenger in the BMW, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 46-year-old Moss Landing man sustained major injuries and was taken to Natividad Medical Center
for treatment.
Mayapuga was arrested and transported to a hospital with moderate injuries, the CHP said.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
