Obed Carbajal Killed in Car Accident at Arlington and Stover Avenues in Riverside
Riverside, California (May 19, 2023) – 8-year-old Obed Barbosa Carbajal has been identified as the boy who died in a crash that seriously injured his siblings on Tuesday morning in Riverside.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Arlington and Stover avenues.
Riverside police say the siblings were in a 2015 Nissan Sentra being driven eastbound on Arlington by Obed’s eldest sister.
A 2020 Honda Civic operated by the 22-year-old motorist was traveling westbound when it drifted into eastbound lanes and collided head-on with the Nissan.
Obed, a resident of Riverside, was killed in the crash
Obed’s 25-year-old sister, 16-year-old brother and 10-year-old sister were critically injured in the accident and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The condition of the Honda driver was not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
