Danika Ibbotson Among 2 Killed in Oakhurst Accident on Road 426 near High School Road
Oakhurst, California (May 14, 2022) – Danika Lee Ibbotson, 18, has been identified as the second victim of a deadly accident that happened in Oakhurst on Sunday evening, according to a local news source.
The incident happened at about 9:15 p.m., on May 8, on Road 426 near High School Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Ibbotson and her boyfriend, Jeramy Wayne Smith, 18, of Coarsegold, were riding in a BMW when they tried to pass a Honda Civic on Road 426.
The BMW reportedly clipped the Honda, then left the roadway and slammed into a tree.

Smith was pronounced dead on the way to a hospital.
Ibbotson was hospitalized in critical condition but she succumbed to her injuries days later.
Two Oakhurst men aged 23 and 25 were in the Honda and were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
