Oxnard, California (November 1, 2022) – 49-year-old Richard Rojas died days after he was involved in a motorcycle crash over the weekend in Oxnard, as per a local news source.

Rojas was involved in a collision at around 10:15 p.m. Saturday on Oxnard Boulevard near Wooley Road.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, Rojas was riding a 2004 Honda motorcycle southbound on Oxnard Boulevard toward Wooley Road.

Authorities said a sedan traveling in front of him stopped for traffic, but for unknown reasons, Rojas could not stop and ended up rear-ending the car.

Emergency personnel responded and took Rojas, an Oxnard resident, to Ventura County Medical Center with severe injuries. The motorcyclist died of his injuries at the hospital on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old Oxnard woman driving the car stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Police are still investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
