Michael James Lewis Killed in Highway 101 Collision near Main Street in Santa Maria
Santa Maria, California (May 13, 2022) – 68-year-old Michael James Lewis has been identified by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office as the Nipomo man who was killed in a collision in Santa Maria on Monday.
The deadly crash happened on Highway 101 near Main Street on May 16, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Lewis was driving a Honda CRV when a Nissan 350Z crashed into his vehicle during an unsafe lane change.

The impact of the collision caused Lewis’ Honda to flip over and land in the southbound lanes.
Lewis was rushed to Marian Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Nissan driver was unhurt.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
