2 Injured, Mathew Dick Arrested after Chico Crash on Highway 99 near Esplanade
Chico, California (January 14, 2022) – Two people were injured in a suspected DUI collision in Chico on Thursday, according to a local news source.
The incident happened on Highway 99 and Esplanade on Thursday, January 13.
Police said Mathew Dick, 31, was driving a black Volvo northbound on Esplanade when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a big rig traveling southbound on the highway.
The Volvo rotated counterclockwise following the impact of the collision.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were attended to by medics who responded to the scene.

Dick was taken to Enloe Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. He was also arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash is under investigation.
