Jeremiah Smeby Killed in Martinez Car Crash on Highway 4
Martinez, California (May 13, 2023) – Jeremiah Smeby, 49, of Antioch, died after being involved in a crash in Martinez Tuesday night, according to authorities.
The wreck happened on Highway 4, between the Morello and Center Avenue exits at about 10:40 p.m. May 9.
According to the report, Diana Zuniga, 18, of San Pablo, was driving a gray Honda Civic west on Highway 4 when she was involved in a collision with a white Toyota that was also westbound.
Both vehicles went down an embankment and slammed into trees.
Smeby was the driver of the Toyota. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on Wednesday.
Zuniga was declared dead at the scene.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
