1 Severely Hurt in Crash on Interstate 5 in Lebec
1 Hospitalized after Lebec Car Accident on 5 Freeway at Lebec Rest Area
Lebec, California (October 23, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol said one person was severely injured in a collision that took place Saturday afternoon in Lebec.
Two vehicles collided at around 1:41 p.m. on northbound Interstate 5 at the Lebec Rest Area.
A gray Honda Odyssey and a white Lexus were involved in the crash. The Lexus went off the roadway after the first impact, hitting a PG&E telephone pole and damaging about 60-70 feet of perimeter fence.
One person suffered major injuries in the accident. The victim was taken by ground ambulance to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
Caltrans and PG&E personnel were requested to respond to the scene for the damaged perimeter fence and telephone pole.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
