CHP Investigating Multiple Collisions on I-5 in San Juan Capistrano
At Least 1 Seriously Injured in San Juan Capistrano Crash on Interstate 5 near Stonehill Drive
San Juan Capistrano, California (February 7, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating three separate collisions, one of which resulted in major injuries, early Tuesday morning in San Juan Capistrano.
At around 2:26 a.m., CHP officers were notified about a traffic crash on northbound Interstate 5, just north of Stonehill Drive, with one occupant of a white Mercury Sable requiring medical help.
The officers responded to the scene and found five cars involved in three separate collisions.
One crash involved two cars and left at least one person with severe injuries.
Another collision also involved two cars and the third a single vehicle. These two crashes resulted in property damage only.
Officers did not immediately determine how the collisions happened, and what factors contributed to the incidents.
