Lucian Mosoianu Dies After Being Hit by DUI Driver in Phoenix
36-Year-Old Lucian Mosoianu Killed in Phoenix Pedestrian Accident near 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road
Phoenix, Arizona (February 13, 2023) – 36-year-old Lucian Mosoianu died after being hit by an impaired driver Saturday night at an intersection in Phoenix.
According to Phoenix police, the incident happened at about 8:34 p.m. at 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road.
Police said Mosoianu was walking diagonally across the intersection when he was struck by an SUV traveling west on McDowell.
First responders found the pedestrian with serious injuries. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators administered a field sobriety test to the driver and determined they were impaired at the time of the collision. The driver was cited for DUI and then released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
