Fontana, California (October 29, 2022) – Brian Joel Melina, 20, of Rialto, has been identified as one of the three parties killed in a Monday night fiery traffic accident in Fontana, authorities said.

The deadly accident occurred at about 11:40 p.m., on October 24, on Interstate 15, just south of Sierra Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a black 2016 Honda collided with a maroon Kia hatchback on the roadway.

One of the vehicles was reportedly traveling northbound in the freeway’s southbound lanes.

As a result of the crash impact, the Honda caught fire, and Brian was trapped inside with a passenger.

Sadly, Brian and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. One other person trapped in the Kia was also pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

San Bernardino, California (October 25, 2022) –  Three people were killed in a fiery car crash involving a wrong-way driver on a freeway in Fontana on Monday night, October 24.

At around 11:40 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a traffic collision on southbound 15 Freeway near Sierra Avenue.

A Honda and a Kia were involved in the crash. Police say a car was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided with another vehicle. One of the cars reportedly burst into flames after the collision, trapping two occupants.

The unidentified male and female in the burning car were pronounced dead at the scene.

One person in the second car was also killed in the wreck.

The names of the deceased persons were not immediately disclosed.

Additional information about the accident was not provided.

As per the report, a vehicle driven by a Fontana police officer east on Baseline Avenue approaching Orlando Drive crashed with a second vehicle for undetermined reasons.

Due to the impact, the patrol car acquired moderate damage.
