3 People Killed, 3 Injured in Newport Beach Crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Newport Boulevard
Newport Beach, California (May 12, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning traffic accident that killed two men and a woman in Newport Beach.
The deadly accident occurred at about 12:46 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Newport Boulevard.
According to the police, a car carrying three people, the two men, and the woman, was headed eastbound on the highway when, for unknown reasons, it crashed into the median. The car then slammed into roadwork construction equipment.

Sadly, the two men and the woman were pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other parties who were standing nearby when the collision occurred sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized for treatment.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
Traffic on the highway between Superior and Riverside avenues was stopped for an unknown period due to the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
