Elizabeth Cano Killed in Bay Terraces Accident on Paradise Valley Road
Bay Terraces, California (May 17, 2023) – Elizabeth Higuera Cano, 25, was among two women killed in a collision early Sunday morning in the Bay Terraces, according to a local news source.
The incident took place at around 2:30 a.m. May 14, in the 6100 block of Paradise Valley Road.
Authorities said a Honda Civic was trying to turn left onto Munda Road when it was struck on the side by a 2003 Ford F150 traveling on Paradise Valley Road.
Both occupants of the Honda, Elizabeth Cano and Jazmin Higuera Cano, were killed in the collision.
The driver of the Ford reportedly left the scene on foot after the crash but later turned himself in.
The driver, identified as Tony Garcia, 53, of San Diego, was booked into the San Diego County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and a felony hit-and-run.
The collision is under investigation.
