Larry Hallum Dies in Bakersfield Accident on Old River Road and White Lane
Bakersfield, California (May 19, 2023) – Larry Hallum, 79, died after being involved a collision with a DUI motorist in Bakersfield on February 15, according to the authorities.
The two-vehicle crash happened at Old River Road and White Lane.
Authorities said Marque Joaquine Qualls was driving a vehicle at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and collided with a vehicle driven by Hallum.
According to the report, Hallum was transported to a hospital with major injuries and was pronounced deceased on April 22.
Following the accident, Qualls was arrested on May 17 and charged with murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident is under investigation.
