Multiple Killed in Multi-Car Accident on Interstate 5 in Albany
7 Killed, Several Others Injured in Albany 3-Car Crash on Interstate 5
Albany, Oregon (May 18, 2023) – Seven people were killed, and several others were injured after a crash involving two semi-trucks and a car Thursday evening in Albany.
According to the Oregon Police, the deadly crash happened at around 2:05 p.m. on Interstate 5 in an agricultural area between Salem and Eugene.
Two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle were involved in the fatal crash. The manner in which the collision happened was not immediately established.
Seven adults were killed in the accident. Several others sustained injuries.
Two Life Flight helicopters landed and transported people away while paramedics treated others on the ground.
The identities of the deceased were not immediately released.
The northbound lanes of Interstate 5 were shut down following the traffic collision.
No additional information about the crash was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the wreck is ongoing.
