1 Killed in Highway 101 Wrong-Way Crash in East Hollywood
1 Killed, 3 Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 near Santa Monica Boulevard Exit in East Hollywood

Los Angeles, California (May 8, 2023) – One person died, and several others were injured in a fiery crash involving a wrong-way driver that happened early Monday morning in East Hollywood, the California Highway Patrol said.
The pileup was reported at about 4:45 a.m. on the southbound Highway 101 near Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue exits.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash.
Two of the cars caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames before the Los Angeles Fire Department responded.
The firefighters found at least one person trapped and in need of extrication.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other people were injured. One was hospitalized with unknown injuries, and two others sustained minor injuries.
Police are investigating the collision.
