Rider Injured in San Diego Bike Accident on Washington Street
San Diego, California (May 15, 2023) – An electric bike rider was injured in a collision with a vehicle in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego on Saturday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The crash took place just before 7 p.m. May 13, in the 800 block of Washington Street.
Police said a 47-year-old man was riding the bike at a high rate of speed when he slammed into the rear of a 2014 Ford C-Max multi-purpose vehicle that was heading west on Washington Street.
The rider sustained a broken right wrist and other injuries. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Police said alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
