Driver Sent to Hospital after DUI Crash on Highway 97 in Wapato
1 Hospitalized after Wapato Vehicle Collision on Highway 97
Wapato, Washington State (May 24, 2023) – A 58-year-old man was injured after a car crash in Wapato Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident was reported on Highway 97.
As per the report, the male driver was driving southbound on the highway and struck a truck turning onto Highway 97.
The driver then drove past the traffic signal and connected with a construction truck pulling a trailer.
The operator sustained injuries and was rushed to the Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The police said he would be charged with failure to obey the traffic signal and driving under the influence.
More details about the crash were not available.
The crash remains under investigation.
