Diana Zuniga Killed in Martinez Collision on Highway 4
Martinez, California (May 13, 2023) – Diana Zuniga, 18, of San Pablo, was killed in a collision that took place in Martinez on Tuesday night, according to the authorities.
The incident happened at around 10:40 p.m. May 9, on Highway 4 between the Morello and Center Avenue exits.
Authorities said Zuniga was driving a gray Honda Civic westbound on Highway 4 when she collided with a westbound white Toyota driven by Jeremiah Smeby, 49, of Antioch.
The impact sent both vehicles down an embankment and they both crashed into trees.
Zuniga was pronounced deceased at the scene while Smeby died at a hospital on Wednesday.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the incident.
