Chris Larges Hurt in Chico Collision on Highway 99

Chico, California (March 8, 2023) – Chris Larges, 52, of Shasta Lake, was injured in a crash that left one person dead Tuesday afternoon in Butte County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred just before 3:30 a.m. March 7, on Highway 99 near Cana Highway.
Three cars and a big rig were reportedly involved in the crash.
According to CHP, a woman was driving a silver Toyota sedan northbound on Highway 99 when she crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound big rig.
The big rig’s rear axle came off and went into the northbound side, where it was struck by a northbound red Toyota pickup truck driven by Larges.
The impact caused the truck to roll over multiple times.
The axle then swerved back into the southbound side and crashed with a silver Honda sedan.
The 52-year-old Chico woman driving the Toyota sedan was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Larges and the driver of the big rig sustained moderate injuries.
The CHP is investigating the wreck.
