At Least 1 Dies in Highway 101 Crash near Padre Juan Canyon Road in Ventura

Ventura, California (May 15, 2023) – At least one person died in a fiery collision that happened Monday morning on Highway 101 in Ventura, the California Highway Patrol said.
The wreck occurred at about 9:29 a.m. in the northbound lanes near the Padre Juan Canyon Road overcrossing.
A utility truck and a Honda CR-V were involved in the collision.
The truck caught fire after the crash and got fully engulfed.
At least one person died in the accident.
Ventura County firefighters and the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office responded following the deadly crash.
Northbound Highway 101 was closed at around 10 a.m. Motorists were being diverted onto Highway 1 at the state beaches exit, with a detour to Highway 33 and Highway 150.
Authorities did not immediately determine the cause of the accident, but they are investigating.
