Chino Valley Police Officer Seriously Injured in Crash

Chino Valley, Arizona (November 2, 2022) – A Chino Valley police officer was hospitalized with serious injuries after a traffic collision Tuesday morning in Chino Valley, as per a local news source.

The incident happened just before 8 a.m. near U.S. 89 and Road 1, less than a half-mile north of City Hall.

According to Chino Valley police, their officer was driving a 2017 Ford Explorer along U.S. 89 when, for unknown reasons, they rear-ended a Jeep Liberty.

The officer sustained serious injuries and was flown to a hospital in Deer Valley in stable condition.

The driver of the Jeep was treated at the scene and released.

Police said the officer was released from the hospital after about six hours and went home to recover.

No other officers or deputies were involved in the collision.

U.S. 89 between Road 2 and Center Street remained closed for about two and a half hours following the wreck.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation into the accident.
