Cecilia Villalobos ID’d as Anaheim Woman Killed in 10 Freeway Collision in Whitewater
Whitewater, California (May 15, 2023) – Cecilia Villalobos, 31, has been identified as one of the three Anaheim residents who were killed in a violent crash that left seven other people injured in Whitewater on Sunday morning.
At around 7:27 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a car crash on Interstate 10 Freeway near Haugen Lehmann Way.
A Tesla Model 3 and Chevrolet Suburban were involved in a collision, with the impact causing the Chevrolet to crash into the center divider and overturn.
Six of the nine occupants of the Chevrolet were ejected.
Villalobos was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
A 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl who were ejected from the Chevy also died at the scene.
Authorities say a 7-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl suffered major injuries and were airlifted to a local trauma center. A 15-year-old boy was also hospitalized with major injuries.
The 39-year-old man driving the Chevrolet and a 41-year-old man in the right front passenger seat sustained moderate and minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
CHP says the 31-year-old man driving the Tesla was unhurt.
