Carlos Ramirez Hurt in Ballico Accident on Santa Fe Drive and Ballico Avenue

Ballico, California (February 14, 2023) – Carlos Ramirez, 50, of Winton, was injured in a crash between two vehicles on Monday morning in Ballico, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on Santa Fe Drive and Ballico Avenue at around 8:36 a.m. February 13.

CHP said Ramirez was driving a 1998 Toyota Tacoma eastbound on Santa Fe Drive approaching the intersection of Ballico Avenue. As he slowed down for the stop sign, he was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Cruze driven by Tyler Etharidge of Turlock.

The Chevrolet rolled multiple times due to the collision while the Toyota swerved to the right and collided with a parked trailer. 

Ramirez was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.

Etharidge was not injured.

speed is suspected to have played a role in the collision, CHP said.

The investigation is ongoing.
