Kyle Schwegel Hurt in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 65
Bakersfield, California (December 22, 2022) – Kyle Schwegel, 28, of Bakersfield, was injured in a traffic collision on Tuesday evening in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on Highway 65 and James Road at around 5:20 p.m. December 20.
CHP said Schwegel was driving a Dodge Ram southbound on Highway 65 when he tried to make a left turn and was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado pulling a trailer.
The Silverado then hit a Toyota Sienna driven by Jesus Rodriguez, 72, of Bakersfield.
A 3-year-old in the Silverado was not properly belted and was ejected. The child was taken to a hospital with a broken rib.
Schwegel and Rodriguez were transported to Kern Medical with minor injuries.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the accident.
The wreck is under investigation.
