2 Killed in Pedestrian Accident at Juniper Avenue and Augusta Lane in Atwater
Atwater, California (November 2, 2022) – Two pedestrians died after being struck by a car in Atwater, Merced County, on Wednesday morning.
The fatal accident was reported at around 9:20 a.m. near the intersection of Juniper Avenue and Augusta Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A black Chrysler minivan was traveling westbound on Juniper Avenue from North Buhach Road when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck two pedestrians and a light pole.

The two unidentified pedestrians were pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The names of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the involved car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
