1 Killed, 1 Injured in Collision on Highway 14 near Backus Road in Mojave
Mojave, California (November 2, 2022) – One person was killed in a head-on collision that left at least one other person injured in Mojave on Tuesday night.
The fatal crash happened on Highway 14 near Backus Road at around 11:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Multiple vehicles including a semi-truck were involved in the collision. The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to flip onto its roof.
One person was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by the firefighters who responded to the incident.
Authorities say one person was killed in the accident but the identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed.
At least one person was injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
