Oakland, California (February 22, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a fatal multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday morning in Oakland.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, the accident happened on westbound 580 Freeway near 80 Freeway at around 4:34 a.m.
Five vehicles were recovered at the accident scene, but the events leading up to the accident were not immediately established.
One of the cars reportedly overturned after the collision.
CHP says at least one person was killed in the accident.
