Susanna Angeles ID’d as 1 of 2 Persons Killed in Fillmore Crash on Highway 126 near Spalding Drive

Fillmore, California (February 23, 2021) – Susanna Angeles, 34, of Fowler, has been identified as one of the two people who were killed in a Sunday afternoon head-on collision that left several other people injured in Fillmore, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 2:35 p.m., on February 21, on Highway 126, west of Spalding Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2013 BMW 325i sedan, driven by Eric Anthony Carrillo, 27, of Oxnard, collided head-on with a 2008 Smart Fortwo, a two-seat subcompact car, operated by Susanna Angeles, 34, of Fowler.
Carrillo was reportedly heading westbound in the BMW when he allowed the car to travel over double-yellow lines into the eastbound traffic lane, where it collided with the Smart Fortwo.
Following the collision, the BMW continued westbound in the eastbound lanes where it collided head-on with a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche that was headed eastbound directly behind the Smart car.

Sadly, Angeles and Carrillo sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
A 25-year-old man from Fresno, who was a passenger in the Smart car, was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.
A 62-year-old Santa Clarita woman driving the Avalanche and her passenger, a 57-year-old man from Acton, sustained minor injuries and were aided at the scene.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
