Surprise, AZ.- Authorities are investigating a fatal accident that left one person dead at an intersection in Surprise early Monday morning.
According to Surprise Police Department, authorities responded at about 2:30 a.m. to a solo crash on 211th Avenue and Sun Valley Parkway.
Police reported that a man was driving in the area when he left the roadway and crashed. The man was ejected from the vehicle as it crashed.
Emergency crews located the ejected driver, who was declared dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
Authorities reported that the driver is suspected to have been traveling at a high rate of speed and was not wearing a seatbelt.
At least one westbound lane of Sun Valley Parkway was shut down following the accident. The cause of the deadly accident remains under investigation.
