Semi Truck Crash on I 80 in Nevada County Results in Major Injuries

Nevada County, California (March 10, 2023) – At least one person suffered severe injuries in a traffic collision involving a jackknifed big rig Thursday afternoon in Nevada County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

 The collision took place at about 3:44 p.m. on westbound Interstate 80, just west of the Eagle Lakes Road off-ramp.

 According to CHP, a big rig jackknifed on a blind curve under unclear circumstances, and a Ford-250 truck collided with it.

 Firefighters responded to the scene and helped at least one person who sustained major injuries.

 CHP officers are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
