2 Hospitalized after Santa Barbara County Crash on Highway 101 

Santa Barbara County, California (April 23, 2023) – Two people were hospitalized after a traffic collision on Highway 101 along the Gaviota Coast in Santa Barbara County Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck was reported at around 7:22 p.m. April 22, near El Capitan Ranch Road.

A pickup truck and a Subaru collided on the northbound side of the highway under unclear circumstances.

One of the vehicles was pushed up an embankment while the other rolled onto its side along the highway.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the driver of the Subaru.

Both drivers were taken to Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital for evaluation.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
