Robert Hooe Hurt in Fatal Wallace Crash on Highway 12 at Wards Avenue 

Wallace, California (January 21, 2023) – Robert Hooe, 73, of Stockton, was injured in a fatal traffic collision that took place on Wednesday morning in Wallace, according to a report by the authorities.

The incident took place on Highway 12 and Wards Avenue at about 11:44 a.m. January 18.

CHP said Raul Barron Jr., 26, of Lodi, was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus east on Highway 12 when he swerved off the roadway, then overcorrected and crashed the side of a 1999 Buick Park Avenue driven by Hooe.

Hooe was treated for minor injuries

Maribel Mendoza, 23, of Stockton, who was a passenger in the Ford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Barron was airlifted to the U.C. Davis Hospital in Sacramento for treatment of serious injuries. He was also arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The CHP is investigating the accident.
