Robert George Dies after Grantville Accident on Camino Del Rio N

Grantville, California (March 18, 2023) – Robert Sherman George, 95, died days after being involved in a two-vehicle collision earlier this month in Grantville, according to the San Diego medical examiner’s office.

The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. March 2, in the 4200 block of Camino Del Rio N.

A Toyota pickup truck traveling westbound drifted across the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming Honda SUV.

George was the driver of the Toyota. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on March 13.

The other driver, a 77-year-old woman, complained of chest pain.

The San Diego Police Department is investigating the incident.
