Perez Esmeralda Injured in Oakland Car Accident on 880 Freeway near 7th Street

Oakland, California (February 27, 2023) – According to a California Highway Patrol report, Perez Esmeralda, 25, was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon in Oakland.

The collision happened at around 4:07 p.m. on February 26 on the northbound 880 Freeway, just south of 7th Street,

Per the dispatch, a gray Honda Civic and another vehicle collided for reasons still under investigation.

Firefighters and medics rushed to the scene to aid the crash victims. The Honda driver sustained a minor facial laceration and a swollen left eye following the collision. Esmeralda, a Honda passenger, complained of back, neck, and chest pain due to the accident. Both the Honda driver and Esmeralda were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities closed all lanes following the crash. The roadway was re-opened as of 4:27 p.m.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the accident location.
