Woodburn, OR. – A was struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver in Woodburn early Sunday morning, according to the authorities.

The incident took place in the 200 block of North Pacific Highway shortly before 2 a.m.

According to the authorities, a 49-year-old man was trying to walk across the Highway when he was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver was arrested and booked into to the Marion County Correctional Facility on multuple charges including DUI.

The driver was identified as Santino Saldana, 27.

All lanes on the highway were shut down following the accident.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
