Pedestrian Hurt in Palm Srings Accident on Tahquitz Canyon and Sunrise Way

Palm Springs, California (February 2, 2023) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a suspected DUI motorist on Wednesday night in Palm Springs, according to the authorities.

The wreck took place at about 8:30 p.m. February 1, on Tahquitz Canyon and Sunrise Way.

Authorities said a 57-year-old Palm Springs woman was hit by a vehicle driven by a 59-year-old Palm Springs man.

The woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio and his bail set at $50,000.

The crash is under investigation.
