Pedestrian Injured in Bakersfield Accident on Union Avenue 

Bakersfield, California (May 11, 2023) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a Bakersfield police vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in Bakersfield, according to the authorities.

The incident happened at about 12:20 p.m. May 10, on Union Avenue near East 9th Street.

The BPD patrol vehicle was heading south on Union Avenue when it struck the pedestrian as the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road from the center median.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate to major injuries.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
