Male Pedestrian and Motorist Die After Traffic Crash on 6th Street near Alameda Street in Downtown Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California (April 27, 2023) – A pedestrian and a driver died in an auto-pedestrian accident that happened early Thursday morning in downtown Los Angeles, police said.

The incident occurred at around 1:25 a.m. on 6th Street, west of Alameda Street.

The Los Angeles Police Department said a 25-year-old man was walking westbound on the sidewalk along 6th Street when a car traveling westbound hit him.

The car continued in a westbound direction and crashed into a building.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported both the pedestrian and the driver to a hospital. Both victims were pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police are investigating the accident.
