Carlsbad, CA. – One person died, and a driver was arrested after a DUI collision that happened Saturday morning at an intersection in Carlsbad, authorities reported.
The incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. at La Costa Avenue and Piraeus Street.
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, the collision involved a Subaru crossover and a Nissan pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck was rushed to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
33-year-old Philip Webb of Oceanside was driving the Subaru. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury or death and vehicular manslaughter. He was expected to be booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
