King City, CA. – One person was airlifted to the hospital after a major crash that happened Wednesday evening near an intersection in King City.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred around 6:03 p.m. on Jolon Road, also known as County Road G18, near Mission Road.
A white 4-door Chevrolet pickup truck and a Volkswagen were involved in the crash.
One person was lying in the roadway after the collision.
Authorities responded to the scene and blocked the roadway in both directions.
Emergency personnel requested a helicopter to land in the area and airlift one person who suffered severe injuries. The victim was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.
The Volkswagen was towed away with major rear-end damage, and the pickup truck with major front-end damage.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
