Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield Police Department has confirmed that the one-month-old baby who was severely injured after two vehicles collided at a Bakersfield intersection on Sunday night has died.
The incident occurred at about 7:32 p.m. on August 24, 2025, at 8th Street and T Street, and involved a sedan and a pickup truck.
The baby was seriously injured and was taken to Valley Children's Hospital in Madera. The baby was pronounced dead at the hospital on Monday, August 25.

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle collision that left a baby severely injured in central Bakersfield Sunday night.
The collision happened at the intersection of 8th Street and T Street at about 7:31 p.m. on August 24, 2025.
BPD said a red pick-up and a silver sedan were involved in the crash.
According to BPD, a passenger in the silver sedan, identified as a baby, was hospitalized with severe injuries following the collision.
Both drivers reportedly declined medical aid at the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
