Driver Hospitalized after Madera County Crash with Big Rigs on Highway 99 near Avenue 20

Madera County, California (November 1, 2022) – At least one person was hospitalized after a crash involving big rigs in Madera County on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened at about 1:45 p.m. October 31, on Highway 99 near Avenue 20.
A big rig traveling northbound on Highway 99 sideswiped another big rig that was stopped on the side.
This caused a chain-reaction collision involving a third big rig and an SUV.
One of the big rigs rolled and spilled fuel.
A fire was sparked by the crash but was quickly extinguished.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The CHP is investigating the wreck.
