Elk Grove, CA. – A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a truck Friday morning in Elk Grove, the Elk Grove Police Department reported.
The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. on Elk Grove Florin Road, north of Campbell Road.
According to police, a pickup truck towing a trailer was heading north on Elk Grove Florin Road when it attempted to make a U-turn into the southbound lane.
At that time, the 21-year-old motorcyclist broadsided the truck.
The rider was thrown from the bike, sustaining fatal injuries.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators closed Elk Grove Florin Road through the morning following the accident. The roadway was reopened at around noon.
